E-Mail to working group:

The objective of the Young Members' Working Group (Arbeitskreis Jungmitglieder, AKJM) is to integrate younger GDMB members (young engineers and students) better into the activities of the society and to let them take part in fulfilling its tasks. Furthermore, it aims at increasing the young members' participation in events held by the specialist committees and regional groups. The AKJM organizes its own further education seminars. The working group is represented by contact persons at numerous universities. With its activities, the GDMB wants to present itself primarily to students and young engineers.

Beyond that, we want to persuade young people to take up a career in engineering. Company visits provide a realistic insight into the wide range of activities of geologists, mining engineers, processing specialists, metallurgists and related professions. The job prospects and career options are described in short presentations. Young and experienced colleagues report about their experiences and give advice regarding the choice of profession and a successful career. Excursions and seminars provide additional opportunities to establish personal contacts in order to clarify further questions.

Next meeting of the
Young Members Working Group:

16. - 19. November 2020 as a video conference
- at the High Performance Mining Conference in Aachen
