Mine Surveying Expert Committee

Chairman of committee:  Dipl.-Ing. Oliver Lohsträter

E-mail to expert committee:

As a result of the intensified cooperation between the GDMB and the German Mining Surveyors Association in the past years, the Mine Surveying Expert Committee was founded at the beginning of the year 2000.

Previously, mine surveying themes could only be handled as fringe issues in the GDMB specialist committees. The aim of the Mine Surveying Expert Committee is to fill this gap and create a discussion and working forum for interested parties. The regular meetings are supplemented by lecture and excursion programmes.

The following main themes have been selected:

  • Historic mining (documentation, evaluation, securing and rehabilitation)
  • Questions relating to maps and plans in connection with mine closures
  • Environmental impact of raw material extraction (prognosis, monitoring, control)
  • Development and use of alternative geo-energy sources
  • Geotechnical measurements – evaluation and interpretation
  • Use of information technology in deposit management and in geo-technology
  • Training and education in the field of mine surveying

Participation in the expert committee is open to all GDMB and DMV members. The contact partner for interested parties is the Leader of the specialist committee, Dipl.-Ing. Oliver Lohsträter, MIBRAG mbH, who will be happy to answer your inquiries.
